This free event is for all ages in the community with a focus on K-12 students to inspire and energize them to not only think big but to develop the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) skills needed to become tomorrow’s innovators and leaders. 


The weekend will be action-packed with activities throughout two levels of the Bridgewater Commons.

Come watch up to 21 high school FIRST® Robotics Competition Teams play CHARGED UP™ in the center court of the mall!  Meet our teams, see their workspace and get an up close view of their robots!


The game is played by two alliances, with each team controlling a large-scale robot designed and built by the teams.

FIRST LEGO League Challenge 

Robotics Workshops

(Lower Level by Williams Sonoma)

The FIRST LEGOLeague Challenge workshops will provide an overview and give tips about: 

Teams will sign up for an 80-minute slot and rotate through each 20-minute session with time to ask questions and see ideas close up.  This is a great opportunity for rookie teams and seasoned teams alike to gather information for their qualifying event in November.

The public can watch as teams reimagine the future of sustainable energy and power their ideas forward for this year's game  FIRST ENERGIZE℠ 

FIRST LEGOLeague Challenge Teams (4th - 8th Grade) strive to empower young people to be leaders and innovators and this year’s energy theme addresses global challenges related to United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #7 -- focused on ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all. 


Come visit these young leaders as they design LEGO Robots to solve emulate solving real-world problems.

FIRST® Tech Challenge of New Jersey team members will be bringing their robots and excitement to the event. Teams will be building and practicing for the 2022-23 game, FIRST® POWERPLAY℠ . See teams enhancing their robot design in the “Pit Area” and playing the official game on a 12’ x 12’ field. 

The area will also include a FIRST® FREIGHT FRENZY℠ exhibit which will serve to demonstrate the 2021-2022 game and serve as a Driving Zone for young guests. Area visitors can also drive one of our “jersey-bots” around a 16’ x 16’ “FTC Racetrack”, among other fun activities.  

All are invited to meet our team members, enjoy the amusements, and learn about the FIRST® Tech Challenge Program for 7th - 12th Grade students. 

Robot Driving Experience

Meet our FIRST® Tech Challenge and FIRST® Robotics Competition teams as they take one of the robots for a test drive. 

Quiet Explorations

(Lower level)

We understand that crowds, noisy robot competitions and activities with large groups do not work for every child.  We will have a quiet store space, located on the lower level, with Sensory-Friendly STEM Activities available for independent exploration with open space to just chill for a few quiet moments.
